Seasonal Variations.

Knowledge regarding changes in our digestive power with the variating seasons has been well understood in our society. When Agni outside is strong (in summer) the agni inside us(digestive power)is weak and vice-versa.This is reflected in a way in our food customs at various seasons.
For Ramanavami ,which comes during the summer months, the prasadam is very light and easily digestable. The prasadam for Krishna jayanthi &Deepavali which come during winter is varied and comprise of food atricles which are rich in calorie and heavy to digest.
The effect of various seasons on our health has also been noted. It is a custom to eat neem flower and leaves during spring season and tulsi(basil) leaves are given as prasadam during winter seasons .

The article on "Seasonal variations" is good.In India especially in the south people follow a systamatic food habit even througout the week. For e.g most of us take greens every Friday and avoid vegetables which contain more water. On Saturdays we take vegetables with slight bitterness.
Can you write some more about the seasonal festivals?
