April 1-"All fools' Day"

Many European countries for a very long time celebrated New Year's Day on April 1.However,when the Gregorian calender replaced existing Julian calender, New Year Day was shifted from April 1 to January 1.But some people who either did not know this change or refused to accept it, continued to celebrate New Year's Day on April 1.Such people were thought to be fools and they soon became the butt of pracatical jokes. They were sent silly gifts were invited to parties that were not going to take place."

Pregnancy tips.

Standing Posture:
You can check that you are standing in the right way with the help of a full length mirror.Lengthen and straighten your back so that the weight of the baby is centered and supported by your thighs, buttocks and stomach muscles. This will help prevent backache and tone up your abdominal muscles, making it easier for you to regain your figure after delivery.
Work:
Do as much as you can at floor level instead of bending over.
Getting up from bed:
Always turn on your side when you have been lying down. Then move into a kneeling position.Use the strength of your thighs and hands to push yourself up;keep your back straight.
Sleeping position:
As the fetus grows within the uterus, lying on your back is not good due to pressure on the inferior vena cava,a major vein that returns blood from the lower body to the heart. In addition the increased pressure on the back and intestines can cause discomfort.Sleeping on the stomach should be avoided, because it will put pressure on the fetus.
The best sleeping position is on her side, especially the left side, because it allows maximum blood flow to the fetus and improves kidney function in the mother. This helps to reduce any swelling.Placing a pillow between the knees can help her to sleep more comfortably on her side.

Vethathiri Maharishi calling all seekers...

Not many of the aspirants
have the spirit of inquiry:
"What are we searching for
and why this quest at all?
Whereto are we headed
and who could guide us in this?

The bulk of the seekers,alas.
are just running hither and thither
in emotioned excitement
spiralling into a maze.

Instead of subtling within
towards the in-dwelling Self,
their mind projects outward
experiencing pleasure and pain.
Quietitude you cannot get
in the thick of the market-place;
and the only path to the goal
is Meditation and Introspection....

TO A FRIEND

In ancient times, men married by thirty;
lasses went to their husbands when twenty;
today in these chaotic times
people marry even later;
marriage cannot come too early;
if children are born late in life,
their parents turn old and weak
before they are grown; one can do things
best in one’s prime; I would like to
thank my parents for their help, but
they passed away and my filial
heart cannot express itself; today
of those on the imperial payroll,
a few are able to help their parents, while
an official with a big income
spends it all on his wife and children;
how can we bring our customs back
to normal? I await your
coming to office to do this, so that
filial sons and daughters
can pay respect to their parents
before they are dead and gone.

At present what we see around us is reflected way back in 772 to 811.
This shows that throughout the world and at all times there is no change in human behaviour.

VETHATHIRI MAHARISHI ON "MENTAL CULTURE".

You should realise
the value of human birth;
You are not body alone
but in addition you are
mind, life and Truth
in conjoined functioning.
This knowledge will render
your talents to come to fruition
and equip you to erase
the imprints of adverse actions.
Purity of thought and deed
will raise you to the status
of the Supreme Being,
the in-dwelling Absolute.
This process of self-training
is "Mental Culture",friends,
and do all you can to spread
this philosophy in practice...

Returning Home at Night -An interesting poem.

Now I am half way to being
a hundred, but when will I
have some time for myself?
in the morning, I leave the house by candle light, returning
home when the evening drum sounds; not
that my wine jar is
empty, or that I have
no mountain view over my wall,
but just that I have no time
to enjoy these things ; day after day,
coming home so tired, I fall right into my bed;
will there ever be any happiness
I can call my own?

Though more than 1000 years passed since this creation, even today it holds good. Today’s Software people go early to workspot and come late in the evening. Most of them don’t see the sunrise as well as the sunset.
When will they have the time to enjoy rather relax?

Some health tips.

A Perfect salad:
A recent study revealed that those who ate a sliced Avacado(butter fruit) with their salad had five times more lutein and fifteen times more beta carotene than those who ate the salad without Avacado. It is because the nutrients in vegetables can be absorbed better when eaten wuth this healthy fats like Avacado. This fruit will also increase the good cholestrol.
Is Buttermilk better?
Buttermilk is one othe probiotic foods that promote healthy intestinal flora, along with yoghurt, kefir, cottage cheese.Buttermilk usually contains the bacteria Steptococcus Lacti.Buttermilk with a pinch of assafoetida is a good remedy for fullness of stomach, flattulance &indigestion.

The Plight of Women-Ever relevant poem!

Hair done up beautifully,
Eyebrows freshly penciled,
Yet how many time after making up my face
Have you, my husband, kept silent, uttering not
A single word of encouragement: one day I
Will be buried alongside you: it is to you I give all my love:
Yet you look lightly upon spending our remaining days together: for me
The bitterness began last year:
I knew well your meaning, yet I never spoke of it: today
I am determined to say very little, but what I say will have
Deep meaning: I choose a story of the past to tell you:
People may say of a couple that they are so close
That they become one body:
Yet when death separates them, will there be justice for the survivor?
When her husband dies, a woman lives quietly by herself, a bamboo
Cut down by the wind, never to grow again: though dry and dead,
It’s rings of growth are still visible: when a man loses his wife,
For the moment he is sad: but he is like a willow at the door,
Which sprouts forth new leaves each spring: the wind breaks off
one branch, yet another grows in it’s place: I speak to you
in jest, hoping you will listen: you should have something
of the plight of women, and from now on
cease to look down upon them.

NOTE: This poem is written by BAI JUYI a Chinese poet. Can you guess the period it is written? To our surprise, it is more than 1000 years. The poet belongs to Tang Dynasty(618-907). Even today his poems speak to us with relevance. Two hundred poems of his collections have been translated by Rewi Alley.

WOMEN'S RIGHTS - POEM

Women’s rights-By Annie Louisa Walker

I wish to quote a few beautiful lines of this poem.
.

“As humble plants by country hedgerows growing,
That treasure up the rain,
And yield in odours, ere the day’s declining,
The gift again:
So let us,unobtrusive and unnoticed,
But happy none the less,
Be privileged to fill the air around us
With happiness:

The Poet compares women to hedgerows growing along the roadsides that grow up by the rain. They don’t need anybody’s support to grow and yield odours.
Women are always unnoticed. They are not even recognized. Yet they do their duties and fill the surroundings with happiness.

Stay young!

Since evolution manwanted to remain young.Indeed being youthful is a state of mind.To remain healthy and youthful, one does not start at the age of fifty.Caring for the body and mind should begin even before our twenties.I am happy to share the following points.
How can one stay young? -MAXWELL MALTZ.
.Thoughts on continued youth;
.Stay young by thinking young:
.Youth is an emotional attitude.
Senility bypasses those who refuse to retire from life
The young at heart demand more from life than timid souls resigned to deterioration.
As long as a person pursues adventure, he will stay young.
Good humor and good will know no age.
A sweet thought is as inspiring at 89 as it is at 19.
To feel alive at any age is heaven on earth.
You are neither young nor old,but a human being.
Enthusiasm is youth and boredom is senility,no matter what your age.

Food Habits

Food is an important source of energy to our body. The most important of any food is its fuel value. The exact nutritional need of the human body is:
Glucose -88% to 90%
Protein -4 to5%
Minerals-3 to4%
Vitamins- 1%
Fat - 1%
The Fruit is the perfect food on earth.
Food must be easily digestible and assimilable. If food takes long to digest we are wasting energy. It takes two hours to digest food when consuming one cereal.when we mix two (i.e)rice &wheat,It takes 5 hours to digest.
Aerated drinks, milk and milk products, junk foods contain toxic residues. Our body functions on optimum efficiency only when it is slightly alkaline in metabolic end products.Milk &milk products leave an acidic residue as they hit the stomach.Citric fruits such as orange or mosambi leaves an alkaline residue.
Only fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds(in sprouted form) have the highest possible nutritional value.
Refined sugar, milk &milk products, animal products, tinned, bottled and packaged foods and refined oil are foodless foods(i.e)contain zero nutrients and take too long to digest.

Seasonal Variations.

Knowledge regarding changes in our digestive power with the variating seasons has been well understood in our society. When Agni outside is strong (in summer) the agni inside us(digestive power)is weak and vice-versa.This is reflected in a way in our food customs at various seasons.
For Ramanavami ,which comes during the summer months, the prasadam is very light and easily digestable. The prasadam for Krishna jayanthi &Deepavali which come during winter is varied and comprise of food atricles which are rich in calorie and heavy to digest.
The effect of various seasons on our health has also been noted. It is a custom to eat neem flower and leaves during spring season and tulsi(basil) leaves are given as prasadam during winter seasons .

Music therapy.

Music has the power of healing. Music that is primarily rhythmic affects the physical body; Melodious music deals with the emotions; and the harmonics of music relates to spiritual energy. Listening to certain music can cure some illness or expedite the recovery. We use music to relax and meditate .

I wish to share wonderful news from a magazine. Reciting Soundarya Lahary can cure mental illness and Lalitha Navarathna krithies can cure blood cancer. Morning ragaas like Boopaalam and malayamaarutham cure morning illness. For digestion Sree raagam and for insomnia listen to Neelaambari. Raaga Bairavi can cure T.B, Cancer, fever, blood pressure and diabetes.

Human nature.

Let us have your comments on this topic:

We read about bomb blasts throughout the world almost daily. But its impact lasts on us only for a few hours. Why?
Are we slowly becoming immune to our surroundings?
Are we self centered?

Readers please share your views with us.

Topic 2:
Why do women crave for recognition?
Is it that they are not at all recognized at home?
Or is it they want to satisfy their self esteem?
Or that they want to achieve something?

Please share your views.

Avoidance of anger

"When anger comes, think of the consequences,it

will soon subside".-Confucius.
Anger creates an unpleasant situation, and it

harms the body and mind of the angry person. It also

affects his work efficiency.
But anger should never be suppressed,as it may

lead to skin trouble or some health problems.By

doing some excercise or walking one can change the

mood.
Lord Buddha always admonished his desciples and

followers to restrain from getting angry. He adviced

them to see good in everything.
Once Lord Buddha was taking his desciples to a

village,which was notorious for its

ill-tempered,arrogant people.He told his desciples

to remain cheerful even if they do not welcome them

thinking that they have not abused them.
Good emotions make us well, and bad emotions

make us ill.God gives us what we need, but it

remains for us to learn to use these gifts.

Flush out of your mind the bad emotions:anger ,fear and

hate, with sincere prayer and meditation;and you

can develop defenite feelings of health and

vitality.

The Prayer power.

“More Things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”-Tennyson
The human beings are like thought magnets. In other words whatever thoughts we think, we tend to attract similar thoughts to us. So if we think negative thoughts, we are encouraging the universe to send negative thoughts our way. But if we think positively, we attract positive energy.
Words saturated with sincerity, conviction, faith and intuition are like highly explosive vibration bombs, which when set off, shatter the rocks of difficulties and create the change desired. Avoid speaking unpleasant words, even if true. Sincere words of affirmations repeated understandingly, feelingly, and willingly are sure to move the Omnipresent Cosmic Vibratory Force to render aid in your difficulty. Appeal to that Power with infinite confidence, casting out all doubt: otherwise the arrow of your attention will be deflected from its mark.
After you have sown in the soil of Cosmic Consciousness your vibratory prayer -seed do not pluck it out frequently to see whether or not it has germinated. Give the divine forces a chance to work uninterruptedly. And The Lord helps those who help themselves.

On Marriage!

"The real act of marriage takes place in the heart, not in the ballroom or church or synagogue. It's a choice you make -- not just on your wedding day, but over and over again -- and that choice is reflected in the way you treat your husband or wife."
-- Barbara De Angelis

"Marriage is that relation between man and woman in which the independence is equal, the dependence mutual, and the obligation reciprocal."
-- Louis K. Anspacher

"To marry a man out of pity is folly; and, if you think you are going to influence the kind of fellow who has ''never had a chance, poor devil,'' you are profoundly mistaken. One can only influence the strong characters in life, not the weak; and it is the height of vanity to suppose that you can make an honest man of anyone."
-- Margot Asquith

"Like everything which is not the involuntary result of fleeting emotion but the creation of time and will, any marriage, happy or unhappy, is infinitely more interesting than any romance, however passionate."
-- W. H. Auden

"Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance."
-- Jane Austen

"Wives are young men's mistresses; companions for middle age, and old men's nurses."
-- Francis Bacon
"In marriage there are no manners to keep up, and beneath the wildest accusations no real criticism. Each is familiar with that ancient child in the other who may erupt again. We are not ridiculous to ourselves. We are ageless. That is the luxury of the wedding ring."
-- Enid Bagnold

"A woman must be a genius to create a good husband."
-- Honore De Balzac

"It is easier to be a lover than a husband for the simple reason that it is more difficult to be witty every day than to say pretty things from time to time."
-- Honore De Balzac
"Marriage is our last, best chance to grow up."
-- Joseph Barth

For a good sleep!

All activities are governed by breathing. The siddhas or supreme masters of Yoga applied the breathing techniques for every ailment. One of the techniques is Thooka or sleeping pranayamam. It is far superior to sleeping drugs which produce drug dependency and addiction.
Before going to sleep inhale slowly for 2 seconds and exhale for 1 second.Never hold the breath. You have to breathe as if you are in sound sleep.Enjoy your sleep with sweet dreams through this Pranayamam.
Never practice this technique while driving or suffering from sleeping sickness.

Breathing Technique

Pranayamam is defined in the science of Yoga
as the scientific art of mastering the breath. The Pranayamam which is used to cleanse the lower respiratory tract is Purna suthi Pranayamam.
There are are two lobes of the lungs in the left lower quadrant and three lobes in the right lower quadrat. There are millions of alveoli or air sacs in the lungs.12500 alveoli makes one inch! All these can be cleansed by this kriya.
Technique: Sit eract comfortably, the head, neck and spine in a straight line. The shoulders should be limp and loose like a coat in a coat hanger.Keep one hand over the other in Sarpa Mudrai.
Take in a deep breath through both the nostrils using all the muscles.Forcibly breathe out through the mouth.
Greater the force ,greater the cleansing power.Purse the lips and use the teeth to produce thin long jet of air.
Caution: Do not breathe on children or others;they will get the infection.
The no: of kriyas is dependent upon the phlegm accumulated in the alveoli. It is one of the best methods of cleansing the lower respiratory system comparable to the sophesticated mechanized methods of draining the lungs in modern medicine

Vethathiri Maharishi’s view on “Respecting Womanhood.”

Realizing the greatness of womanhood is of inestimable importance in one’s life. About half the world’s population is comprised of women and the other half by men. Furthermore, the half who are males are all children of the other half! It is obvious that every male gets his life from a woman; it is primarily woman’s blood that circulates inside him.
Every human being has been conceived in a female womb, has been nourished by a woman, and has been able to lead his life every moment through the supportive companionship of woman. If analyzed in proper perspective, women can not be viewed as less than, greater than, or even equal to males. The providential compassion of Nature has placed women in a special position. An individual or a society that does not give due regard and respect to the greatness of womanhood can never attain peace and prosperity.

Eye Care.

The world is full of screens of various sorts.Television screens, computer screens, various types of display screens and illuminated and non-illuminated displays. There is concern about the effects these have on the eyes.Television is as safe to the eyes as the refregirator is to the stomach. But Television should not be viewed for long from too close a distance.
The thumb rule seems to be seated at least six times the screen size away(e.g 20 inch TV;20* 6=120 inches or 10 feet away from the screen is a safe distance.)
Avoid periodic washing of the eyes. This will not only wash away the tear film but may introduce infections from the contaminated water.

Fatty facts

A healthy man's body should have about 12 to 18% fat.In women, this range is 14 to 20%.Body fats has its benefits. It stores energy and steadies body temperature. When you eat more than you need for the energy you expend ,your body stores the surplus as fat.
Cellulite is nothing but plain fat.It looks dimpled because of the strands of fibrous tissue fill with fat just below the skin on the thighs.Health proffessionals claim that 99% of women develop at least some dimply fat after they are 30 because their skin loses its elasticity and firmness due to collagen loss and lack of muscle tone.A twice weekly massage, together with weight loss and smart eating is likely to crack the toughest of fat pockets.

Today's LETTER..

A LETTER FROM . . . .

As you got up this morning, I watched you,
and hoped you would talk to me,
even if it was just a few words,
asking my opinion or thanking me for something good
that happened in your life yesterday.
But I noticed you were too busy,
trying to find the right outfit to wear.

When you ran around the house getting ready,
I knew there would be a few minutes for you to stop
and say hello, but you were too busy.
At one point you had to wait fifteen minutes with
nothing to do except sit in a chair.
Then I saw you spring to your feet.
I thought you wanted to talk to me
but you ran to the phone and
called a friend to get the latest gossip instead.
I watched patiently all day long.
With all our activities I guess you were
too busy to say anything to me.

I noticed that before lunch you looked around,
maybe you felt embarrassed to talk to me,
that is why you didn't bow your head.
You glanced three or four tables over and
you noticed some of your friends talking to me briefly
before they ate, but you didn't.

That's okay. There is still more time left,
and I hope that you will talk to me yet.

You went home and it seems as if you had lots of
things to do.

After a few of them were done, you turned on the TV.
I don't know if you like TV or not, just about anything goes there and
you spend a lot of time each day in front of it
not thinking about anything, just enjoying the show.
I waited patiently again as you watched the TV and ate
your meal, but again you didn't talk to me.
Bedtime I guess you felt too tired.
After you said goodnight to your family
you plopped into bed and fell asleep in no time.

That's okay because you may not realize that
I am always there for you..
I've got patience, more than you will ever know.
I even want to teach you how to be patient with others as well.

I love you so much that I wait everyday for a nod,
prayer or thought, or a thankful part of your heart.
It is hard to have a one-sided conversation.

Well, you are getting up once again.
Once again I will wait, with nothing but love for you.
Hoping that today you will give me some time.
Have a nice Life !

ABOUT DRINKING WATER................

The following will probably amaze and startle you...

A single glass of water shuts down midnight hunger
pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University study.
Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen.
Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day? (No kidding, all of the above is true...) Now that I have your attention, go get another glass of water!

World without war

All of us were born on the same earth;
The life-protecting air that we breathe is common for all;
The sun that warms and lights the entire world is common for all;
The sea water that evoparates and rains is common for all;
None of the above have been created by anyone in this world;
Everyone is born, lives and will die;
If the killing of one part of humankind by another is justified,
Then murderers alone will remain.
Can any of us deny the above facts?
In today's social set-up there is no need at all for such an atrocity as war.War continues only because of the inherited habits.Good deeds should not be postponed or delayed.
-Thathuvagnani Vethathiri Maharishi

Sunlight forever.

Sunlight forever
All living things get their energy from the sun. The cloudless blue sky during the day has great beneficial influence on the world. Sunlight kills many harmful germs. As you know sunray consists of seven colours –violet, indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.. Out of these the first three colours have cool effect on the body and are also antiseptic, the last three colours create heat. Green is neutral.
Each colour has its own unique effect which can be used for healing and restoring body’s natural balance and harmony.90 minutes from sunrise and 60 minutes before sunset is suitable for this therapy. It was proved that this chemotherapy is very effective for all types of patients even with chronic and dreaded diseases.

Let us know about women:

Studies conducted by University of Southern California show that women are more subject to feeling depressed and “down in the dumps: than men

Average woman requires more sleep than average man.

Even though minor emergencies tend to upset women more, in real crisis she is likely to remain calmer than the average male.
"A woman is like a tea- bag; only in hot water do you realise how strong she is."

Do You Know?

After meals you must feel energetic, light capable of doing any work.If you feel heavy, sleepy or dull it indicates over eating or fast eating or a weak digestive system. To be healthy we must fill 1/3 of stomach with food and 1/3 with water.
If we lie down for 10 to 15 minutes on the left side after lunch or dinner the breath is linked with the sun, producing heat in the body and helping digestion. If we lie down on the right side the breath will flow from the left nostril which is useful during too much body heat or fever.

Relax! Relax!

Relax! Relax!
What makes you tired? Mental work alone can’t make you tired. Boredom, anxiety and worry cause fatigue. Learn to relax anywhere you are.
On coming home after a hectic work a host of works await you. Don’t rush to tackle them. Don’t sit before T.V .Relax for at least 20 minutes.
Open the window and lie down on a mat. Put a pillow beneath your knees. Let your arms and legs lie loosely. Shut your eyes and watch your breath peacefully. A cotton ball dipped in tea/rose water on your eyelids has a very restful effect. Eyes are important in relieving nervous tension as they burn up 25% of all the nervous energies consumed by the body. Do some eye exercise to prevent untimely wrinkles. And don’t think about any unpleasant occurrence of the day. Listen to some good music. This’ll rejuvenate you.

LIVING NOW

As we are living in a time of stress and anxiety we feel acute concern about future. We wish to control and shape our future. That is a distinctive feature which distinguish us from the other living creatures. Our experience in the past gives us the only light on our future. But it has some limits.

“Our appointment with life is the present moment. The place of our appointment is right here, in this very place”.
The Buddha.
We have to live fully in the present moment, neither immobilised bythe past in the form of regrets, resentments and anger nor preoccupied with the future, with anxieties and worries. When you are rooted in the present, you begin to see all the beauty and marvels of life. We do not destroy the present by the regrets of past and hopes of future.
These lines of an anonymous author are very interesting.
“I shut the door on yesterday
and threw the key away.
Tomorrow has no fears for me
Since I have found today.”
To live our life fully we must learn to live now.

THE COLOURS OF THE SKIES

The colours of the sky depends on the position of the sun
and atmosphere. We take the blueness of our sky for granted. But the
skies of other planets in our solar system can be of any
colour. Why? It all depends on the atmospheric density of a
planet, and the gases comprise that atmosphere.Sunlight, which appears white is infact composed of every colour of the spectrum-violet,indigo,blue,green,yellow,orange,red.
And each colour has a different wavelength.Violet and blue
have the shortest wavelengths, orange and red the
longest.Wavelength can be as short as a hundred millionth of
an inch, the size of a simple molecule. The closer the colour wavelength is to the size of a gas
molecule the more it will be bounced around,or scattered,by a
given atmosphere so long as the gas particles themselves do
not absorb sunlight. Our air is a mixer of nitrogen and oxygen.Their particles
are not light absorbent and are as small as the short
wavelengths of blue. Therefore, during the day,the blue light is
more efficiently scattered by the air and we see the sky as
blue. When seen from space the earth appears as a band of blue
at the horizon. Skies of other planets, for example Mars,Venus,Jupiter and
Uranus have different hues. Why is the Mars sky red?Images sent back from the
Viking Mars landers in 1977 and from Pathfinder in 1997 showed
a red sky seen from the Martian surface. This was due to red
iron-rich dusts thrown up in the dust storms occurring from
time to time on Mars. The colour of the Mars sky will change
according to weather conditions. It should be blue when there
have been no recent storms, but it will be darker than the
earth's daytime sky because of Mars' thinner atmosphere. Venus's atmosphere is made up of carbon dioxide and
sulfur. It is so thick that it scatters colour of all but the
longest wavelengths,with sulfur adding a yellowish hue.The
venusian sky is thus seen as a reddish orange. Jupiter's gaint atmosphere is so dense that no light can
pass through to the surface.but in its upper
atmosphere, composed of ammonia ice particles, the sky is
blue-black and still farther down the sky appears red-brown. Uranus's atmosphere is rich in methane and composed of
hydrogen and helium.Methane absorbs the yellow and red light
letting the green and blue filter through.Hydrocarbons remove
some of the blue,so the skies of Uranus are blue-green.

HUMAN LIFE SPAN

"A thankful heart is not only the greatest virtue, but the
parent of all other virtues" -ciero.
I liked this story about human nature and his life span.We
rarely like what we have, but appreciate those of others. It
seems not to be satisfied with what we have,is part of human
nature. When God started His creation,He was deciding the life
span of all living things.Man was sitting at the last as per
evolution, and by the time his turn came, only 25 years were
left.He was very unhappy and said that at that age the real
life starts. Then the ox sitting nearby was generous and gave
25years from its life span.God did not have any
objection.Still man was not happy and kept grumbling. This time
the dog gave 25years from its life span.Still man was not
happy.Next the owl gave25 years from its life span.So man got
an average life span of 100 years, but the original 25 years of
his age is the best period. After that between 25 and 50
years,he leads the life that of an ox struggling for the
family. The next 25 years from 50 -75 he leads the life like
that of a dog, watching the house after his retirement, and from
75-100 years he is like an owl sitting at one place and unable
to see and move properly. According to Indian philosophy, our life span is measured
not in minuites, days, months, and years but is fixed in the
total number of breathes .We breathe 21,600 times /day on
average and our life span is 120years.If we take fewer number
of breaths that will help us to increase our longevity. We can
achieve this by doing meditation &pranayamam.
From the Bible,we have found that men had lived upto 300
years and his life span is reduced to 150 years because of
cooked food, and further reduced because of water and air
pollution and further reduced by smoking and drinking habits. I wish you long, healthy and contented life!
